So to live this mantra, belief, or way of life, I'm listing down my Christmas wishlist. I have been working from home for the past two years—a relatively new set-up for me. I have worked for 10 years in the corporate industry, going to and fro the same office for five times a day, four weeks a month. So imagine how big of a change it was for me when the company had to close the office and make our employees work from home.
It was an eye-opener for us on how cost-efficient working from home was for the business. The CEO quickly realized that the employees can work from home, continue business operations, finish projects, close, deals, etc and not spend anything on operational/utility costs.
It was also life-changing for us employees. First, we had to adjust to the set-up at our homes. My husband became my officemate, our two children were studying from home too, and I had my furry baby Siena working with me during most of the days. It was difficult to set boundaries and separate work from rest and play. I needed to adjust for almost two months before I became comfortable with it.
The next thing I had to adjust on is taking care of all my work set-up needs. I needed to secure a spot at home for my workspace, one where people wouldn't be able to disturb me especially when I'm in serious mode with my work. And then, since I had no time to take care of it, I had no office chair or desk at home. Two years into this set-up and I'm still using a regular desk and chair that are not suitable for office purposes.
So here's my Christmas wishlist filled with work area essentials to build my dream set-up.

My desk has been wobbly the past two years so I really need something that's super stable and can carry heavy weights.
