The third stage is to come up with solutions to the issue your error has generated. You can only consider damage control at this stage because there is no way to go back in time and correct your error. Be concentrated and give the problem you created serious thought. However, you must inform the parties concerned of this before making any adjustments. Consider how you can assist your coworkers with the additional workload if, for example, you made a mistake that affected them and gave them more work than usual.
After doing damage control, you need to come up with a strategy for avoiding making the same mistake again. Analyze the situation objectively and decide where you can affect change. If you're a writer, for instance, you may have conveyed a lot of incorrect material because you were unable to fact-check it and cross-check it with the customer. Because you rushed through writing the piece, time caught you. Next time, try to write it ahead of the deadline to be more productive and submit an article that's polished and approved even before the publication date.
If you commit the same mistake over and over, then that’s a cause of worry for your employer. You might not be the right fit for the position or you are not paying attention to the feedback that you are getting. You may not be following instructions or you are intentionally sabotaging a project. This is what you want to avoid so make sure to learn from your mistakes and do better the next time.
