No matter what country you’re from, the date of birth is always considered special. It is when you entered this world, into your parents’ home, and into the crazy roller coaster that is human life.
It’s understandable why people make such a fuss about birthdays. Zodiac signs determine a person’s personality based on the month they were born. Sweet sixteen and 18th birthdays are important dates. Every year, friends, family, and even strangers greet you on your special day. Some even give you gifts or throw surprise birthday parties for you. You plan getaways or dinners with the people you love. You prepare a grateful birthday post on your socials.
Suffice it to say, even though you share a birthday with millions of other people around the world, you feel extra special to your social circle once the calendar hits your birthday.
But sometimes, people have their own lives or you live far away from your core group that birthdays tend to feel isolating. It’s probably because most of us seek external love on our birthdays that some of us tend to forget to give ourselves some love as well. When you love yourself, you would expect less from other people and be a generally happy and positive person. This is us saying that you deserve to reward yourself today! Buy yourself a cake if no one did; watch a movie; treat some friends; and buy that bag you’ve been eyeing for months.
Personally, since I’ve been designing my new space, I was recently drawn to ergonomic furniture.
